In January 2024, Richard was a guest lecturer on board the Balmoral as it travelled from Southampton (via Madeira) to Agadir, Casablanca and Tangier. Richard gave talks about the history of Morocco, Casablanca and Agadir, as well as Moroccan storytelling and the cultural history of Tangier.

In March 2023, Richard accompanied a group holidaying in Morocco with Andante Travels. Richard acted as a guest lecturer and guide, giving talks about the history, culture and politics of the country.  The group visited Marrakech, Casablanca, Rabat, Meknes, Fes, Volubilis, Banasa, Tetouan, Tangier and Lixus.

In February 2023, Richard presented “The Last Storytellers” at the Marrakech International Storytelling Festival. He also ran a workshop at a local school in the city. He told the schoolchildren about Marrakech’s oral heritage and encouraged them to become the next generation of storytellers.
